EV Biotech is an interdisciplinary start-up based in Groningen, the Netherlands, founded by a team of three young, enthusiastic scientists. Our mission is the biological production of high-value chemical compounds for the flavors and fragrances, biomaterial, agriculture and pharmaceutical markets.

Goal

Steer the chemical industry from unsustainable and oil-based sources to microbial production using a combination of cutting-edge techniques in microbiology, genetic engineering, and systems biology. EV Biotech’s long-term goal is to become one of the established strain developers in Europe.

Solution

Easy setup of the laboratory workflow

eLab helped us in many different ways when starting our lab. We used it to set up the inventory system for our company—it is easy to add or adapt the navigation and to change products to different storage units, which happens frequently in the beginning, when a lot of products are bought for the lab. And it enables us to follow FDA guidelines, to keep good documentation, and to store and manage standard protocols so that they do not need to be created and reprinted every time we need them.
