With the delivery of eLabNext Private Cloud, software licenses for eLabJournal (ELN) are included. The number of licenses provided depends on the chosen installation. For Private Cloud installation, the smallest possible number of active users is 50. If the number of users affects system performance (i.e. for an entire organisation), a high-performance server infrastructure will be implemented and deployed with the licenses according to its size.
Private Cloud ELN is hosted in an Amazon Web Service (AWS) Cloud Data Center in a region chosen by the customer. Server installation, network configuration, and monthly hosting costs are included in the service delivery of a Private Cloud.
For Private Cloud, we handle server and infrastructure maintenances. This includes server updates and security patches as well as updates of all network and software components used.
To ensure maximum system performance and guarantee >99% uptime, we continuously monitor the performance and health of our Private Cloud. In case of events that affect system performance or system uptime, our system engineers are automatically alerted to resolve the issues.
With Private Cloud, you will automatically receive all eLabNext software updates including new features, improvements, and bug fixes without any additional charge unless explicitly stated.
Private Cloud includes 1TB of storage space for data files. This amount typically offers sufficient space for thousands of experiments. Once your organization reaches the file storage limit, you may choose to archive and export experiments, or upgrade file storage capacity. If your lab frequently stores large data files, you can also choose to mount a local file server in the Private Cloud with eLabHybrid.
eLabNext stores a daily backup of all data in case a disastrous event affects data in the AWS Cloud data center or access to Private Cloud servers. Data back-ups are restored in an encrypted vault. Back-up Restore Tests are executed and verified periodically. The data back-up includes the database as well as associated experiment files.
Customers of a Private Cloud receive support as specified in Service Level Agreement (SLA). The Key-User has all the necessary tools to provide first-line support to end-users by solving common problems and answering basic questions. The eLabNext customer success team supports the Key-User with all questions or problems the Key-User cannot solve.
